I actually like the new BMW. The F80 looked better from the front, but I would still buy one over an Audi or Mercedes based on the manual transmission & RWD alone.

The Model Y is even uglier. I only recall seeing one so far and it’s just not pleasant to look at in the slightest.

Strongly disagree. I think it’s fine, maybe even good.
What I don’t like on the 3 is how far the trunk lid climbs up the back, the rear window base is way too high. They should have just given it a proper hatch (I know they wanted the seamless panoramic roof, but it’s not actually sea mless, there’s a support at the back they could have hung a hatch off of).

I don’t love the BMW, but could live with it. It’s more likely my next daily will be a used 540, M550, or a new M340.

As noted I don’t think the 3's face is bad, but it’s already disproportionately tall for a sedan. Making it taller for the Y really isn’t that pleasing (and certainly not S3XY) , it mostly looks like a C-Max for me.

I know the difference and still screw it up approximately half the time. I might do better just to flip a coin. Or we could just decide that it’s can clearly be a possessive version of it, and easy to differentiate from context.

Is it a 3? It looks like a Y.
Nonetheless, in person the Tesla is much less distinctive and mostly easy to ignore. I think the design is mostly innof fensive. Not ugly, or pretty.

Disagree. The 3 isn’t great by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s not a openly objectionable like the M3/4.

I'm on the Northside of Atlanta. And the Model Y is everywhere, they look disgusting. Honestly, I don't know why you wouldn't just get the 3. That one doesn't look too bad to me, plus the model Y wheels are not very attractive.
